Assistant Cook - School Canteen
 

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Cook to join our team in our state-of-the-art Canteen facility, Eden Eats.  As an employee at Genesis, you will be contributing to an exceptional learning environment that promotes the strong aims of an Independent Christian school.

The position is Part-Time, Term Time, 4 days per week, 8am - 2pm.

Reporting to the Chef you will be responsible for:   

• Food preparation whilst adhering to food hygiene and OH&S 
• Kitchen cleaning including pot washing and heavy cleaning duties 
• Maintaining a clean work / service environment 
• Accuracy in handling money using a Point-of-Sale system 
• Maintaining a strong relationship with students, teachers and parents 

To be successful, you will need: 

• Experience in food preparation
• Excellent customer service skills 
• Ability to be flexible and reprioritise tasks 
• A professional attitude and appearance 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
• A friendly, positive can-do attitude and strong communication skills
• Current Blue Card or ability to obtain
• A food safety certificate will be highly regarded 
• An active Christian faith and strong Christian character
